The exhibition project set up in the former church of San Francesco in Udine is promoted by Confartigianato-Imprese Udine to celebrate the eclectic and creative figure of Leonardo da Vinci on the 500th anniversary of his death. In the sheet 638 ° V of the Codex Atlanticus Leonardo studies a strategy to defend Friuli from the assaults of the Turks at the beginning of the 16th century. The river with its water becomes the defense line for the Friulian land. Land and water are the elements that connect the works of the local artisans to the great Tuscan genius, with artistic works of the most diverse materials (wood, wrought iron, stone and marble, glass, mosaic ...) and expression of various skills (bookbinding, weaving, goldsmith's art, watchmaking ...). Apprentice students of the Linguistic Lyceum of the Convitto Paolo Diacono of Cividale will guide the tours.
